Healing Through Mindful Movement

Yoga for Healing

Yoga is a therapeutic and somatic practice that supports you in reconnecting with your body, mind, and spirit. Rooted in trauma-informed principles, each session creates a safe, supportive space to explore, release, and heal at your own pace. Through gentle stillness and flowing movement, yoga offers a path to regulate your nervous system, deepen self-awareness, and cultivate a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

Regulate, Release, and Reconnect with Yourself

Yoga as Therapy

Yoga with me is more than movement. It’s a therapeutic practice rooted in safety, compassion, and presence. Each class is designed to help you listen to your body, meet yourself where you are, and gently unwind layers of tension. Through mindful sequencing and somatic awareness, yoga becomes a supportive space to regulate your nervous system and release what no longer serves you.

This practice isn’t about perfection in poses, it’s about the relationship you create with yourself. On the mat, you begin to notice your patterns: the ways you push, hold back, or judge yourself. With awareness, these patterns can shift, opening space for new choices. Yoga becomes a mirror for life, helping you see limiting beliefs and offering a pathway toward greater clarity, compassion, and freedom.

Over time, yoga helps you reconnect with your body as a place of safety and wisdom. Breath, movement, and mindfulness weave together to strengthen trust within yourself and deepen your inner resilience. This is the heart of therapeutic yoga: creating a sanctuary where healing, integration, and self-discovery unfold naturally.

Benefits of Yoga

Yoga is a therapeutic practice that helps you reconnect with your body, calm your mind, and feel more grounded. Through mindful movement, breath, and awareness, it creates lasting shifts in how you experience your body, emotions, and daily life.

Nervous System Regulation & Anxiety Relief

Yoga helps calm the nervous system, ease anxiety and reduces stress so you can think more clearly, sleep better, and respond to challenges without feeling overwhelmed. It supports emotional balance and creates a foundation for steadiness in mind, body, and soul.

Releasing Stored Tension & Trauma

Yoga provides a safe, somatic space to gently release physical and emotional tension stored in the body. Through mindful movement and breath, you can cultivate trust in your own body while letting go of patterns that no longer serve you.

Building Awareness, Resilience & Inner Connection

Yoga creates space to notice habitual thoughts, limiting beliefs, and emotional patterns. By practicing awareness and self-compassion on the mat, you strengthen resilience, deepen your connection with yourself, and carry this empowerment into everyday life.

    What You Might Be Wondering

    Frequently Asked Questions

Wondering how an individual breathwork session works, what to expect, or whether it’s right for you? Here are answers to some common questions to help you feel informed and confident before beginning your journey.

    General questions

Do I need to be flexible or experienced to start?

No experience or flexibility is required. Yoga is about connecting with your body, not achieving perfect poses. Every movement is adaptable to your needs, helping you build awareness, strength, and ease at your own pace

What should I bring to class or a private session?

All you need is a yoga mat, a quiet space, and a willingness to connect with your body. Optional props like blankets, blocks, or cushions can enhance comfort and support deeper relaxation.

How does somatic-informed yoga differ from regular yoga?

Somatic-informed yoga emphasizes the connection between mind and body. It focuses on listening to your internal sensations, releasing stored tension or emotions, and cultivating safety and awareness, rather than just following poses or sequences.

Can yoga help with anxiety, stress, or trauma?

Yes. Yoga supports nervous system regulation, emotional release, and self-awareness. Through mindful movement and breath, you can experience reduced stress, calmer emotions, and a greater sense of inner stability.

    Support questions

How often should I practice to see benefits?

Consistency is key, but even a single session can bring clarity, calm, and relief. Regular practice supports long-term benefits like improved emotional regulation, resilience, and body awareness.

    Are sessions private or group?

All sessions are virtual and can be tailored to your preferences. You can choose private 1:1 sessions for a personalized experience or participate in small, intimate group programs when they’re offered.

What should I expect physically, emotionally, and mentally during a session?

Physically, you may notice warmth, tingling, or release in tight areas. Emotionally, feelings may arise and shift, such as sadness, joy, calm, or release. Mentally, you may notice greater focus or clarity as the mind quiets and you connect with your body.

Do you offer online or in-person options?

All sessions are virtual, which allows you to practice safely from home while receiving personalized guidance, adjustments, and support throughout the session.

Can I combine yoga with therapy or breathwork?

Absolutely. Yoga complements therapy and breathwork by helping you process emotions, regulate the nervous system, and build body awareness. Many clients integrate all three practices to support holistic growth and healing.

How much do sessions cost, and how do I book?

Private 1:1 sessions are $200 per 60-minute session. Workshops and programs vary depending on length and content. You can reach out via the booking link or contact form to schedule your session or learn more.

    Is this covered by insurance?

Some clients are able to use coverage through extended health benefits for sessions with a Registered Social Worker (RSW). Coverage depends on your plan, so it’s best to reach out to discuss your specific situation before booking.
